Dash cam fitting in Newcastle: a front camera fitted neatly beside the mirror, and a rear camera on the back window with the cable hidden in the trim
A front and rear install: the front camera sits tight to the mirror, and the rear cable runs out of sight behind the trim.
What’s Involved

Wired in properly, not plugged into the lighter socket

A dash cam is only any use if it works every time you need it. We hardwire the camera into the vehicle so there are no trailing leads, nothing to unplug, and nothing left on show.

Front and rear cameras
Both ends covered, with the rear camera cable run through the vehicle and hidden.
Hardwired, not plugged in
Wired into the vehicle so the camera runs on its own, leaving your sockets free.
Cables out of sight
Tucked behind the trim and headlining. The only thing on show is the camera.
Parking mode set up
Where your camera supports it, so the vehicle is still covered when you walk away.
Reversing cameras
Fitted to cars, vans and anything else, wired to come on as soon as you select reverse.
Rear view mirror cameras
A camera feed in place of the mirror. Good on vans, and on any vehicle with a blocked or awkward rear view.
Vans and fleet vehicles
Single vehicles or a run of them, fitted on site so they are off the road for as little time as possible.
Fixed price fitting
Window mounted cameras, £60 front and £120 front and rear. Tailgate and number plate cameras priced on the vehicle.
How Long It Takes

Around two hours, done at your place

Most front and rear installs take about two hours, and a single front camera is quicker. It is all done on your driveway or at your workplace, so there is no garage to drop the vehicle at and nothing to arrange around it.

What It Costs

Fixed price fitting

Front camera fitted, £60.
Front and rear fitted, £120.

Those prices are for window mounted cameras. Rear cameras that mount on the tailgate or down by the number plate take longer to run in, so those are priced on the vehicle.

You buy the camera, we fit it. These are fixed prices rather than an hourly rate, so what you are paying for is the experience, not the clock. We fit these most weeks and we are quick at them, and you get the benefit of that.

Motorhomes & Caravans

Reversing cameras on motorhomes and caravans

A reversing camera earns its keep on a motorhome, because there is usually no rear window to look through. We fit them and replace the ones that have packed in, including the awkward jobs where panels have to come apart to get the cable through.

FAQ

Common questions

How long does a dash cam take to fit?

Most front and rear installs take around two hours. A single front camera is quicker.

Do you supply the camera?

No, you buy the camera and we fit it. There is a huge choice out there and you will always buy it better than we can, so there is no sense in us adding a margin to it.

Will the cables be on show?

No. Cables are tucked behind the trim and headlining so the only thing you see is the camera itself.

Will a dash cam flatten my battery?

Not when it is wired in properly. Hardwire kits are set up to cut off before your battery gets low enough to cause a problem.

Do you fit reversing cameras too?

Yes. We fit reversing cameras and rear view mirror cameras as well as dash cams, on cars as well as vans. The camera is wired to come on as soon as you select reverse.

Can you fit cameras to vans and fleet vehicles?

Yes. We cover vans and fleet vehicles, including rear view mirror cameras, which work well on vans with no rear window.

Will fitting a dash cam affect my vehicle warranty?

A properly installed accessory should not cause problems, but if you have any concerns about your warranty it is worth checking with your dealer first.
